Who Is Badger?

My name is Daine. Currently, I live in Denver, Colorado, but I grew up in northern Montana farming, ranching, and living the small town life. My first move from there was to Bozeman, Montana, where I spent four years working towards my Bachelor’s Degree in Earth Sciences, with a focus in Snow Science and a minor in GIS (Geographic Information System). I now work from home in GIS, which allowed me to move to the big city, or at least the suburbs, giving me new landscapes to see and experience. Outside of my work and photography, I enjoy spending my time outdoors in various means, as well as relaxing by listening to music, knitting, or playing video games.

My journey in photography had its start back in high school journalism. Being from a small town, sports were huge, meaning I spent a good portion of my early experiences pushing the gear I had at my disposal to its limit. From there I got my first camera, and started my personal journey in the subject. I have grown in this field in various ways over the years, from taking a photography course for non-majors in college, to learning from my mistakes and losing the majority of my pre-2019 catalog. Every step so far has been an adventure.

I shoot to edit. In all of my areas of interest, I have found that a camera does not fully capture the experience as we see it with our own eyes, so I push myself to recreate as I have experienced, through the medium of my work.
